Running her hand through her hair Winter stared at the building. She hadn’t been here for this but she very quickly had heard about it, and the cards. The area was still closed off, she’d wanted to see the builfing but that clearly was impossible. “No one knows anything.” she looked up at the birds that had gathered on the roofs of the other buildings. “Even they’re unhappy about it.”

One person she was hoping to avoid entirely was Jasper Leon, he’d be furious with Luke and he just hated her for existing. She wasn’t planning on speaking with him but it seemed he was insistent on speaking with her. There was a second where she thought about just turning and going the other way but Winter was older than he was, Winter could turn him to solid ice without blinking. She could face him. “Mr. Leon.” When he finally made it to her she smiled, “You’re probably looking for my mother.” He wasn’t, he had no reason to be but that didn’t matter. She was Ophelia’s daughter, he’d never be able to lay a hand on her and get away with it. He knew that. @bittersculs

It was exciting seeing everyone in one place. she’d not been around so many people in a long time. Some of these people she’d never seen before, they were all from the mainland and away from Staten Island. There were too few times that she was able to see people like this. Winter had gone all out for this, her outfit, makeup and hair. She’d spent so much time on it, and had gotten looks so far. Looks she hoped were for the outfit and now just because she was a fae. 

“Are these always like this?” When she finally spotted her mother she went over to her, trying to not use her wings to fly over. There were humans here and she had to be careful, she’d been told that a dozen times. “I’ve never met some of these people.” Maybe if she kept talking she’d distract her from commenting on her choice of company for the gala. @opxliaelv

When Luke had first asked her to the gala she almost thought it was a joke. They’d just barely started speaking again after her attack. Winter was ecstatic that they were friends again, but him asking to go to the gala together she’d not believed it. Her mother wouldn’t be happy and Jasper... she couldn’t imagine how he’d react to this. The main reason they weren’t allowed to be friends after his adoption was Jasper. The man was against any kind of supernatural creatures. Being around each other was dangerous like this. But Winter wanted to be his friend. She didn’t want to hide from people. Lukas was her best friend. 

“What do you think your dad’s going to say?” she whispered, staying close to his side. She knew how upset he was, she’d not expected to see Noel or Judith but for him she couldn’t imagine. He wasn’t allowed to do anything, not here, not to her. But she was more worried for him. It wasn’t her who had to see him later. 

Glancing around she spotted the back of Jasper’s head and turned the other way, “Do you dance! I’ve never actually asked you that.” What she could do was try to distract him a little. Things would come to a head eventually but Winter was good at this, making people happy. “If not I can teach you, I think I’m pretty good if I do say so myself.” @lulelaw

@talkngdust “Why are you still here?” When she’d turned the corner towards her mom’s office Vicente was here again. “Don’t you have something else to do? Like... hex puppies or something?” He wasn’t part of the Noctis circle but he was still probably evil. From what she could see he was definitely evil. At the very least annoying. “Are you homeless? Because you can’t live here.”

@fullmccns “Tatiana.” She was hovering above the other woman, “I have a question.” She was supposed to be staying on Staten Island, away from everything going on, on the mainland. But she was tired of being here. She wanted to get out of New York all together, if Tatiana would help her, she’d be in her debt. “Do you have any idea when mom’s going to be off the island? Just for curiosity's sake.”
